The Ubuntu Mutual Fund (UMF) mobilizes and motivates African diaspora in the Netherlands to participate in a fund which offers the opportunities to invest in African businesses with a high return
on investment. UMF tackles the next issues:
- The limited impact of remittances (money sent by migrants back home) on the development at macro-economic level
- The limited involvement of African migrants in foreign investments in their countries of origin
- The limited amount of projects from the diaspora being funded by Dutch or EU institutions, banks or NGO's.
The UMF is inclusive and open to African diaspora and native citizens and organizations in the Netherlands, allowing them to contribute effectively to the eradication of poverty in African
countries and to generate income dividend.
